Design is everything. Many of the great champions of recent times and yesteryear have been the result of carefully and cleverly designed pedigrees. By studying the successful methods of great breeders it is possible to learn some of the key elements that go to make a well designed pedigree and a winning thoroughbred.

In this thoroughly researched book, pedigree analyst Floyd Oliver examines the bloodlines of notable thoroughbreds from the origins of the breed up until modern times. By concentrating on the most successful breeders and the wonderful horses they bred, he is able to distill the key elements of their design. Whether you are an enthusiastic amateur, a skilled professional breeder, whether you have one mare or many, there is something of value in “Breeding By Design.”
